Sales Representative

Department: Admin & Field Sales
Location: Westhoughton, Bolton

The Musco Europe Sales Team is seeking a Sales Representative to join our Bolton, Lancashire office. In this role, you will acquire knowledge of Musco's systems and sales strategy, while actively engaging in sales initiatives, client interactions, and contributing to project tasks.

What you will do as a Sales Representative:

  • Develop strong communication networks and relationships with key contractors, specifiers, and end-users in the UK marketplace.
  • Assess customers' lighting needs and determine which Musco products and services best suit their needs.
  • Effectively present Musco's products and services to customers in a variety of situations, utilising the tools available (sales presentations, meetings, field visits, trade shows, etc.).
  • Identify and define key relationships and decision makers to maximise Musco's position on projects.
  • Make new business development calls to new and existing customers.
  • Work in a team environment to analyse the project from a sales, business, and engineering perspective.
  • Participate in field work as required (measuring/assessing fields, confirming pole locations, assisting at installations, night light tests, troubleshooting, warranty inspections, etc.)
  • Prepare proposals and budget estimates for customers' lighting needs through the use of pricing tools.

What you need to be successful:

  • Must be a UK Citizen, or have permanent residency in the UK.
  • Ability and willingness to attend in-person training for an extended amount of time. Training is held at our Corporate Headquarters located in Oskaloosa, Iowa (United States).
  • 2-5 years of previous work experience is preferred; entry-level university graduates will also be considered.
  • Passion for selling and building trusting relationships with our customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present in front of groups.
  • Proven organisational and time-management skills, ability to manage the workload as it relates to customer visits, project deadlines and internal communications.
  • Self-disciplined and able to work independently to achieve results.
  • Tenacious, able to persevere through sales challenges and setbacks.
  • Strong technical aptitude, ability to understand and present Musco products and services.
  • Personally motivated to learn and develop.
  • Ability to travel within the UK while being based out of our Bolton, Lancashire office.
