Marketing Specialist - Technical Writing

The Musco Marketing team has an opening for a Marketing Specialist at our Oskaloosa office. The Marketing Specialist will drive product and service communications through technical writing and marketing content production. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating clear, engaging materials that support sales, product education, and customer understanding of the Team’s niche in providing unique products and service solutions. Essential Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in marketing, technical writing, or content production.
• Previous experience with Content Management systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office, and documentation tools.
• Strong writing, editing, and basic layout design skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience prioritizing and completing multiple projects on time, while maintaining a strong focus on detail, accuracy, and consistency.
• Ability to communicate with various internal and external contacts via verbal and written communication.
• Working knowledge of computer and needed software.
• Works independently with clear direction, while actively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Enjoy working with diverse workload – from focused & in-depth projects to quick popup needs.
• Curious, look for solutions and better ways of doing things.
• Some travel and night/weekend work possible.
• Innovative problem-solving with a team-oriented mindset.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Technical Writing:

• Develop and maintain user guides, product manuals, installation instructions, sales tools, and internal documentation.
• Simplify complex technical information into clear, easy to understand content.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, sales, and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and integration with marketing strategies.

Project Management and Content Development:

• Drive a mix of routine updates and creative projects and maintain consistency across all deliverables.
• Assist in creating digital content for email campaigns and web pages.
• Ensure all materials meet Musco standards and are optimized for target audiences.

Content Management:

• Maintain version control and organize content libraries.
• Review and revise existing materials for clarity, consistency, and relevance.
• Support cross-functional teams with content needs for presentations, proposals, and training.

Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment: This is an on-site role based in Oskaloosa, IA. Occasional travel and evening/weekend work may be required.
