Musco Sports Lighting is seeking to hire an experienced Cost & Financial Analyst to help drive improvements in our standard costing processes and provide proactive analysis to help support senior leaders in the areas of inventory, cost savings, and pricing decisions. This position will provide a strong candidate the opportunity to contribute to Musco’s success while growing their professional skills to position them for future career advancement within the accounting team or other areas of the company.

The position reports to the Business Analysis Manager. The business analysis team is responsible for the development of management reporting that aligns with the operational priorities and providing advanced analysis and modeling to support business decisions.

What will you do as a Cost and Financial Analyst?

• Responsible for maintaining, updating, and monitoring standard cost and system updates.
• Analyzes budget vs. actual to identify variances to standard and causes.
• Works closely with various team leaders, including purchasing, supply chain, and manufacturing, to support supply chain, cost, and inventory analysis to help inform strategic decisions.
• Leads quarterly cost reviews, which directly impacts pricing strategies.
• Partners with manufacturing and purchasing to evaluate and track cost saving initiatives.
• Leads annual physical inventory through a close partnership with manufacturing and the external auditors.
• Active participation in the annual forecasting process as it relates to standard cost setting/updates and manufacturing costs, including process improvements.
• Active member of the accounting team to help drive efficiency and effectiveness through the accounting processes.

What will you need to be successful?

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 5 years working in related roles
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work with a variety of individuals at all levels both internally and externally.
• Advanced understanding of standard costing concepts and practical application.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Highly proficient with software to include Excel (Advanced to expert level), Power Point, Word and e-mail programs.
• Working knowledge of financial systems and data structures.
