Musco Sports Lighting is hiring a Staff Accountant to assist with the management of financial records for Musco entity, MCG (Mahaska Communication Group). This position will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements along with monthly invoicing and GL reconciliations. A successful candidate will have strong reconciliation skills and will provide great attention to detail.

What will you do as a Staff Accountant?

• Preparation of MCG financial statements.
• Assist in MCG regulatory reporting as needed.
• Assist with MCG budgets and year end projections.
• Process MCG accounts payable.
• Reconcile MCG bank accounts.
• Entry and reconciliation of MCG capital expenditures.
• Preparation of Musco Finance financial statements.
• Monthly invoicing and lease transactions for Musco Finance.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Back-up other accounting staff during vacation and absences.

What will you need to be successful?

• Four year accounting degree and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Understanding of FCC accounting requirements
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong reconciling skills including resolution and follow up
