Entertainment Engineer

Essential Criteria:
- 2+ years of experience with GrandMA console software in a live environment.
- 2+ years of professional experience in lighting design, live event/production, or related field. Demonstrated expertise in large scale entertainment projects is a plus.
- GrandMA Programing Certification preferred.
- Extensive experience with lighting consoles, particularly GrandMA hardware/software.
- Professional experience in a live production environment as a lighting designer, programmer, technician, console operator, or similar role,
- Experience with advanced lighting and design tools such as VectorWorks, WYSIWYG, Capture, Unreal Engine, or equivalent pre-visualization software.
- Expertise in DMX, sACN, Artnet, and other lighting control protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to cultivate client relationships, proactively address needs, and represent the company with professionalism.
- Proven track record of effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in dynamic environments, maintaining composure and professionalism on-site.
- Ability to convey and organize complex technical concepts clearly through written and verbal means, adapting to diverse audiences.
Other Special Requirements:
- Extensive travel (140-180 days per year) is possible within the U.S. and, at times, abroad. Team members will be required to drive vehicles to the job and/or fly based on the location of the site. Will often work alone but could work on a Team.
- Odd work hours are necessary at times. Weekend and night work is required at times.
- Will be working primarily on Job or late-stage construction sites which may include those exposed the elements including heat, cold, and rain.
- Small aerial lift operation and servicing lighting equipment at heights up to 150 feet may be required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Use MA lighting software to program high-quality, repeatable light shows, both for use on-site and in 3-D capture of world-class venues, ensuring precision and consistency across productions.
- Utilize 3D modeling and pre-visualization software to create precise lighting simulations. Develop pre-vis renderings of shows that offer clients a clear understanding of the final light-show design and functionality before deployment.
- Lead direct client engagements to uncover and define their creative and technical vision, then drive the development of bespoke lighting solutions that align with their goals.
- Lead special technical or project-based assignments to drive continuous improvement and innovation of lighting solutions and contribute to the overall success of the project.
- Facilitate lateral learning and creative development across the team by providing and attending training blocks.
- Oversee all light programming aspects and Entertainment control system operation on a project basis, including the development and implementation of proprietary control interfaces.
- Ensure lighting system equipment is calibrated, tested, and functioning at peak performance levels for live events, utilizing resources to troubleshoot complex technical issues, and resolving discrepancies to maintain the integrity and functionality of all installed systems.
- Adhere to team standards for documentation, maintaining up-to-date records that capture the full scope of the project’s technical details, configurations, and modifications.
