Building and Grounds Technician

The Musco Facilities team has an opening for a Building & Grounds Technician at our Oskaloosa office. The Building/Groundskeeper Technician will be responsible maintaining Musco Properties to achieve a professional appearance. They will report and assist the Groundskeeper Superintendent in a wide variety of activities related to property management and equipment maintenance. Essential Criteria:

• High School diploma/GED
• Valid US Drivers’ License required
• Have or be able to obtain a valid CDL-Class B
• Ability to obtain and keep Musco certifications (i.e. lawn care chemical training, safety training, equipment training).
• Ability to operate all equipment in a safe manner
• Ability store and handle gas and flammable liquids according to OSHA standards
• Self-directed and able to prioritize and complete tasks with own discretion.
• Mechanically inclined
• Computer Skills – Word and Excel a plus
• Ability to fulfill all physical requirements of the position
• Strong work ethic
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Innovative problem-solving with a team-oriented mindset
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintain mowing, trimming and landscaping to a professional level by operating grounds keeping equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, and other equipment as needed
• Perform snow and ice removal from sidewalks and parking lots from all Musco properties by operating a snowplow, skid loader, snow blower, or other equipment as needed
• Maintain small engine powered equipment according to owner’s manuals and keep all equipment looking professional
• Maintain paper, plastic and metal recycle programs, waste collection and paper shredding program
• Assist in parking lot striping, barricades and signage
• Assist other Facilities Teams as needed
• Other duties as assigned
