Essential Criteria:

• Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in Iowa, or the ability to become licensed in Iowa
• 10+ years of experience in a Corporate Legal Department and/or corporate-focused practice (or a combination thereof)
• Previous management experience within a corporate or legal setting
• Experience with a broad range of corporate legal matters, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, employment, litigation, and similar
• Previous experience handling global or cross-border issues is preferred
• High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and discretion
• Demonstrated skills in research, analysis, presentation, and communication
• Work effectively in a cross-functional environment and within all levels of the organization
• Build and maintain strong relationships within the legal team and across the organization
• Proven ability work effectively in a changing environment
• Conduct research, learn new regulations and legal precepts, and articulate ideas to help the business grow
• Willing to travel 1 to 4 times per year, including to international business locations
• Desire to work onsite at Musco’s corporate office in Oskaloosa, Iowa

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Advise internal stakeholders on legal rights, obligations, and risks related to Musco’s business activities
• Provide guidance on mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions
• Lead and manage projects and annual goals and initiatives of the Legal Department
• Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant laws, regulations, and case law
• Develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams, such as Finance, Accounting, Credit, Systems, and Sales
• Coordinate responses related to litigation, demand letters, and other potential disputes against the company
• Support the enhancement and maintenance of corporate policies, processes, and training programs, especially with those relating to privacy or data-privacy
• Assist General Counsel in managing the legal department and legal functions of the organization
• Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, and continued development of the corporate compliance program
• Coordinate with external legal counsel as needed
