MCG Sales Manager

Sales Manager – MCG

Mahaska Communication Group (MCG) is looking for a Sales Manager at our Oskaloosa location. A Sales Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the sales team. Responsible for leading the sales team to meet corporate goals while driving revenue to achieve corporate goals. Essential Criteria:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • College degree in business, communications, or marketing; and a minimum of 3 years previous sales management experience.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated, assertive individual focused on sales and thrives in a changing environment.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Confident, outgoing and personable in nature.
  • Solid organization, time management and communication skills are imperative.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent software skills including Excel spreadsheets and CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of telecommunication industry a plus.

Management:

  • Accomplishes sales human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Oversees sales team members’ daily activity and development.
  • Achieves sales operational objectives by contributing sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.

Sales:

  • Identifies sales and marketing opportunities by identifying consumer/customer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
  • Develops the strategic sales plans based on company goals that promote sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization, including business and market development, customer management, management of market research, strategic direction for promotion and advertising, sales growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manages and sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
  • Will spend 40%-60% of time traveling to MCG local offices where time will be spent with the local business account specialist visiting current and potential customers.

Financial:

  • Meets marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Determines annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for market areas; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products; analyzing trends and results; establishing pricing strategies; recommending selling prices; monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand.

Marketing:

  • Work closely with business, government, schools, and learning centers to determine which services best fit their needs while coordinating with other departments to execute projects.
