Application Developer I
The Musco Information Technology team has an opening for an Application Developer I at our Oskaloosa office. If your experience aligns with the qualifications outlined below, we look forward to hearing from you!
Essential Criteria:
- Two-year associate’s degree in related field or combination of equivalent education and experience.
- 0–3 years of application development or related IT experience.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and its application in delivering high-quality solutions.
- Basic understanding of programming concepts, programming languages and development tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work with self-direction and accountability, both independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive data and information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Innovative problem-solving with a team-oriented mindset.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and deploy enhancements, new modules, and applications to meet business and system requirements.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues through effective root-cause analysis to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with business users, QA, and infrastructure teams to gather requirements, translate needs into technical solutions, and ensure successful delivery.
- Follow and make suggestions to improve development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines to support quality and scalability.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well documented code and uphold development standards using best practices and code reviews.
- Plan, track, and document development work maintaining accurate records of tasks and progress within DevOps system.
- Support ongoing application maintenance, updates, and performance improvements in a production environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Special Requirements:
- May (rarely) be required to work outside of normal business hours (including evenings, weekends, or holidays), either on-site or remotely
- May also be required to travel to other Musco locations.
