Electronic Technician

Electronic Technician

The Musco RMA Operations Team has an opening for an Electronic Technician at our Oskaloosa office. In this position, you will perform troubleshooting and repair of electronic products returned from customer facilities.

Essential Criteria:

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, completion of military electronics training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic products, including experience soldering both fine-pitch SMT and through-hole PCB assemblies.
  • IPC soldering certification preferred (IPC-J-STD-001 and/or IPC 7711/7721).
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits to the component level using schematics in conjunction with common test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.) and specialized test systems.
  • Ability to solder thru-hole and surface mount components.
  • Working knowledge of basic lab safety practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
  • Basic MS Office proficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis on Musco electronic products returned from customer facilities.
  • Supports manufacturing by soldering and reworking assemblies that have failed internal inspection or tests.
  • Perform repairs on returned devices.
  • Collect repair data and maintain repair database.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced RMA operations technicians.
  • Assist with design, construction, and maintenance of test fixtures and test systems as required. Includes hardware, software, and mechanical activities.
  • Assist with developing and documenting troubleshooting protocols.
  • Provide feedback to product developers for design corrections and enhancements.
