Essential Criteria:
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field and five or more years of progressively responsible HR experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
- Broad knowledge of HR disciplines and strong business acumen, with the ability to connect organizational priorities to practical people strategies and solutions
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and the ability to apply that knowledge appropriately to HR practices and workplace situations
- Strong communication, relationship-building, coaching, and influencing skills, with the ability to guide individuals at all levels while balancing Team Members' needs, organizational objectives, the Team Manual, and employment practices
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling complex or sensitive situations, including the ability to consider different perspectives, maintain confidentiality, and provide balanced recommendations
- Effective collaboration, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to work across departments, functions, and locations; manage competing demands and multiple initiatives; act with appropriate urgency; and meet deadlines
- Ability to use HR data and metrics to evaluate outcomes, identify trends, support evidence-based decisions, and contribute to continuous improvement
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Domestic travel may be required up to 10% of the time
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Partner with business leaders to translate organizational goals and priorities into people strategies that advance business objectives and reinforce Musco’s core values and culture
- Lead workforce planning in partnership with business leaders to align workforce capacity and capabilities with business priorities. Assess current and future workforce needs and risks, identify talent and capability gaps, and translate those insights into headcount, staffing, succession, and talent plans
- Strengthen leader effectiveness by coaching and advising leaders on communication, decision-making, accountability, ongoing feedback, Team members' development, and organizational performance
- Promote fair and consistent Team member relations by addressing concerns, performance issues, and workplace complaints objectively and in accordance with the Team Manual, employment practices, and applicable employment laws. Document outcomes and communicate them to the appropriate leaders
- Create a consistent and effective experience for Team Members and leaders by partnering across HR functions to align programs, services, and support throughout the Team Member lifecycle, strengthening engagement and retention
- Provide guidance to Team Members and leaders using the Team Manual, employment practices, and applicable laws to support consistent and fair decision-making. Support the development, communication, implementation, and adoption of new or complex policies
- Guide successful organizational change by preparing leaders, supporting clear and timely communication, addressing Team Members' impacts, and promoting effective implementation
- Use HR data and workforce insights to evaluate people strategies, identify trends, and support evidence-based decisions. Translate those findings into process improvements that strengthen organizational performance and the Team Members' and leader experience
